Legal basis for processing personal data
Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest is to ensure that the purpose described below is achieved.
Purpose of data processing
The temporary (automated) storage of data is necessary for the course of a website visit in order to enable delivery of the website. The storage and processing of personal data also takes place to maintain the compatibility of our website for as many visitors as possible and to combat misuse and troubleshoot problems. For this purpose, it is necessary to log the technical data of the accessing computer in order to be able to react as early as possible to display errors, attacks on our IT systems and/or errors in the functionality of our website. The data also serves us to optimize the website and to generally ensure the security of our information technology systems.

Technical service providers who are involved in the operation and maintenance of our website as processors may act as recipients of the data.
Duration of storage
The aforementioned technical data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to ensure the compatibility of the website for all visitors, but no later than 3 months after accessing our website.
Possibility of objection and deletion
You can object to the processing at any time in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR and request deletion of data in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR. You can find out what rights you are entitled to and how you can assert them in the “Your Rights” section of this data protection declaration.
Usage of Cookies
We use cookies on our website to enable certain functions and, where applicable, to integrate external web services. Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device. These text files contain a distinctive string of characters that uniquely identifies the browser when you return to our website. The process of saving a cookie file is also referred to as “setting a cookie.” Cookies may be set either by the website itself or by external web services. Cookies are set by our website or by external web services to maintain the full functionality of our website, improve user-friendliness, or pursue the purpose specified with your consent.
Legal basis for the processing of personal data
Where cookies are processed based on consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, this consent also constitutes consent within the meaning of Section 25(1) TTDSG for setting the cookie on the user’s device. Where another legal basis under the GDPR is cited (e.g., for the performance of a contract or compliance with legal obligations), the storage or setting of the cookie takes place based on an exception under Section 25(2) TTDSG. This applies “if the sole purpose of storing information on the end-user’s terminal equipment or the sole purpose of accessing information already stored on the end-user’s terminal equipment is to carry out the transmission of a communication over a public telecommunications network” or “if the storage of information on the end-user’s terminal equipment or access to information already stored on the end-user’s terminal equipment is strictly necessary in order for the provider of a telemedia service to provide a telemedia service expressly requested by the user.”
Purpose of data processing
Cookies are set by our website or by external web services to maintain the full functionality of our website, improve user-friendliness, or pursue the purpose specified with your consent.
Storage duration
Our cookies are stored until they are deleted from your browser or, in the case of session cookies, until the session expires.
Right to object and delete
You can configure your browser settings to prevent cookies from being set altogether. You can then decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept cookies or accept them in general. Cookies can be used for various purposes, such as recognizing that your device has already connected to our website (persistent cookies) or saving recently viewed offers (session cookies). If you have expressly granted us permission to process your personal data, you may revoke this consent at any time. Please note that the lawfulness of processing carried out based on your consent prior to its revocation remains unaffected.
Analysis of user behavior (web tracking systems)
We do not use programs to measure or evaluate user behavior.
Hosting
Our website is operated on server systems of Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany (www.strato.de). The company is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and DIN ISO 27001. Our hosting services provide the following: Infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, security services, and technical maintenance services that we use for the purpose of operating this on-line service.
In doing so, we or our hosting provider process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta, and communication data of customers, interested parties, and visitors to this on-line offer on the basis of our legitimate interests in an efficient and secure provision of this on-line offer in accordance with Article 6, para. 1, lit. f GDPR in conjunction with Article 28 GDPR (conclusion of order processing contract).
Data Security
We employ technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, as well as against manipulation, unauthorized transmission, loss, or destruction. We regularly review our security procedures and adapt them to keep pace with technological advancements. All data transmitted to and from us is protected by appropriate encryption methods, both during and after transmission.
Disclosure and transfer of personal data
Whenever we have to disclose any personal data, we will do this exclusively with your express consent or following a legal obligation. Your personal data will not be used for any purposes other than those specified in our privacy policy.
Collection of personal data when sending e-mail messages
If you send us emails, your email address will only be used to correspond with you. Information that you send to us unencrypted via email may be read by third parties during transmission. As a rule, we cannot verify your identity and do not know who is behind an email address, so legally secure communication through simple email cannot be guaranteed. We also use spam filters to prevent unwanted advertising, which in rare cases can automatically classify normal emails as unwanted advertising and delete them. We will always automatically delete emails that contain harmful programs (“viruses”).
If you want to send sensitive messages to us, we strongly recommend that you encrypt and sign them to prevent unauthorized access and falsification during transmission or that you send the message to us by conventional mail.
Your rights as a data subject
According to statutory provisions, you are entitled to (a) request information regarding the personal data we have stored about you, (b) request the correction of incorrect personal data or the deletion of personal data, provided we are not obliged to retain such data, (c) request information regarding the parties to whom we may disclose your personal data, and (d) revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. Specifically, you have the following rights:

If this is the case, you have the right to access the information specified in Art. 15 para. 1 GDPR, provided that the rights and freedoms of other persons are not adversely affected (cf. Art. 15 para. 4 GDPR). We are also happy to provide you with a copy of the data.

In accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, you have the right to have any personal data we hold about you that is incorrect (e.g., address, name, etc.) corrected at any time. You may also request that the data we have stored be completed at any time. Any such adjustment will be made without undue delay.

the data is no longer required; the legal basis for processing has ceased to exist due to the withdrawal of your consent; you have objected to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing; your data is being processed unlawfully; a legal obligation requires deletion; or the data was collected pursuant to Art. 8 para. 1 GDPR. Pursuant to Art. 17(3) GDPR, this right does not apply if processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information; your data were collected on the basis of a legal obligation; processing is necessary for reasons of public interest; or the data are necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Pursuant to Art. 18(1) GDPR, you have the right in certain cases to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. This applies if you contest the accuracy of the personal data; the processing is unlawful and you do not consent to erasure; the data are no longer required for the purposes of processing, but the collected data are required for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; or an objection to processing has been lodged pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR and it is not yet clear which interests prevail.
Right of withdrawal
If you have given us express consent to process your personal data (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), you may withdraw this consent at any time. Please note that the lawfulness of processing carried out based on your consent prior to its withdrawal remains unaffected.
Right to object
Pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you that has been collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (processing based on legitimate interests). You are entitled to this right only if there are specific circumstances arguing against such storage and processing.

You also have recourse to any other legal remedies available to you. Regardless of this, you have the right to contact a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77(1) GDPR. The right to lodge a complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR applies in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, and/or the place of the alleged infringement; in other words, you may choose which of these supervisory authorities to contact. The supervisory authority with which the complaint is lodged will then inform you of the status and outcome of your submission, including the possibility of a judicial remedy pursuant to Art. 78 GDPR.

You may exercise your rights at any time by using the contact details provided above.
Withdrawing your consent or requesting the deletion or blocking of personal data may result in us no longer being able to provide certain services and functions. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
